MEET THE COHORT
Do you believe in supporting the next generation of businesses solving diverse problems?
Founder of Unbound
I attended the #MentHERnyc event and was hand matched with a senior female investor. One year later, she's our lead mentor at our current accelerator and a key advisor to our company. I have Irene and Diana to thank for their ability to match entreprenuers with leaders who will champion female led businesses for the right reasons.
Co-Founder of Stylemuse
I came to #SheHacksNYC with an idea and left with a co-founder and the foundation for my startup. The hackathon was not only inspirational as an aspiring female founder, but it was helpful in real, tangible ways. The talent of the participants and the advice from the mentors and judges has been crucial to where our business is over one year later.
Founder at Pantegrion Capital
While partnering with Diana and Irene on #MentHERnyc, I saw firsthand how dedicated they are to empowering women entrepreneurs. Through their intelligence, creativity and persistence, they are constantly innovating and finding new ways to support female-led startups. Their pursuit of excellence is outstanding, and I am proud to continue to collaborate with them in their initiatives.
"GroundUp is partnering with Monarq to further our mission of empowering diverse founding teams. We are excited to put our money where our mouth is (literally!) by providing seed funding to an extraordinary company in the Monarq Incubator that we believe exemplifies the spirit of true entrepreneurship - innovation, business savvy, hard work and resourcefulness. Like Monarq, we don’t just talk about empowerment, we take an active role in changing the status quo."
"Peanut butter and jelly. Coffee and mornings. Grind and Monarq. Some things just make sense together. Grind is partnering with Monarq to continue its commitment to gender diversity and equality in the workplace, and cultivate a space for women-led startups to succeed. Monarq's track record battling gender bias, building diverse networks, and bolstering female entrepreneurs make Grind and Monarq a perfect match."
MEET THE FOUNDERS
High up on the summit of a tropical mountain in Borneo, Malaysia the first seeds of Monarq were planted. Meet Diana Murakhovskaya and Irene Ryabaya, two passionate and adventurous women who decided on a backpacking trip to trade their desk jobs on Wall Street for a chance to build a company that improved the lives of women.
During their first entrepreneurial experience creating a friendship iPhone app for women, the duo experienced firsthand the many challenges that female founders face. As their network in NYC grew through high impact events, Diana and Irene realized that their expertise lies in creating programs for women-led companies to access funding and resources. Now more than ever, these ladies are determined to create opportunities for more women to start, grow, and fund their businesses!
